Job Title: Warehouse Operative
Reports To: Warehouse Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 4.45pm
Job Purpose
To support the safe, efficient, and compliant handling, movement, processing, and preparation of stock, equipment, and materials across warehouse operations. The role contributes to operational output, stock accuracy, quality standards, and safe working practices across functions such as goods in, inventory, order preparation, dispatch, recycling, and general warehouse support.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out a range of warehouse duties in line with operational priorities, team requirements, and company procedures.
- Support the receipt, checking, movement, storage, picking, packing, preparation, and dispatch of stock, equipment, and materials as required.
- Accurately identify, sort, label, and process items in line with operational, customer, stock control, or departmental requirements.
- Use approved methods, equipment, and where required basic hand tools, safely and correctly.
- Follow all health and safety rules, including PPE, manual handling, operational controls, and workstation safety standards. Maintain a clean, organised, and hazard free workstation.
- Support stock accuracy through careful handling, recording, and completion of stock checks or related warehouse tasks.
- Follow company policies, site rules, and reasonable management instructions at all times.
Key Skills & Experience
- Basic IT skills would be an advantage.
- Experience in a warehouse, logistics, recycling, production, or operational environment is desirable.
- Confidence using warehouse equipment, handheld devices, or basic tools safely and correctly where required.
- Understanding of the care required when handling stock, equipment, and out of box items.
- Awareness of health and safety requirements in a hands-on operational environment.
- Ability to carry out repetitive manual tasks safely and efficiently.
- Good attention to detail and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- A reliable and flexible approach, with the ability to work as part of a team.
Performance Metrics
- Accurate processing and recording of stock, materials, and operational activity.
- Consistent adherence to health and safety, PPE, and housekeeping standards.
- Effective completion of warehouse tasks to the required quality and accuracy standard.
