Job Title: NHS Cleaner – Mental Health & Learning Disabilities Ward

Location: TA2 7AU - Wellsprings Hospital Site

Start Date: 1st September

Job Type: Temporary Ongoing

Working Pattern: 12 hour shifts, 3 days a week. Monday to Friday and weekends on a rota basis

Pay Rates:

  • Monday–Friday: £12.21/hour

  • Saturday: £17.22/hour

  • Sunday: £22.34/hour


Job Description:

We are currently recruiting for a Service Assistant to work on a Mental Health and Learning Disabilities Ward. You will play a key role in helping to maintain a clean, welcoming, and recovery-focused environment for patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the ward is clean, tidy, and maintained to high hygiene standards

  • Support with the preparation and delivery of food and beverages to patients

  • Assist in creating a friendly and pleasant atmosphere for patients and staff

  • Work closely with the ward team to support day-to-day operations

  • Adhere to infection control and food hygiene standards at all times

  • Be approachable, compassionate, and respectful in all patient and team interactions

Requirements:

  • Ability to work both weekdays and weekends on a rota basis

  • Commitment to maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and patient care

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Must undergo an Enhanced DBS Check

  • Previous experience in a healthcare or care setting is desirable but not essential
