Job description
Gap Personnel (operating as an employment business) are currently recruiting for our client in Ollerton, South Nottinghamshire for a permanent Operations Manager.
Hours of work:
Monday – Friday
08:00 - 16:30
Pay
Between £50,000 and £60,000 per annum
Description and key responsibilities as an Operations Manager:
- Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the production teams, ensuring the product is produced efficiently, effectively and to a consistently high quality.
- Responsible for the effective and efficient stock management of the site products.
- Responsible for generating production plans in support of internal and external stake holder targets, ensuring the production function meets the requirements in terms of Quality, Cost and Delivery
- Responsible for the management of site product core holdings and component stocks in line with business needs and objectives.
- Responsible for the smooth running of the Warranty function
- Line Management responsibility for the entire Nottingham operations team, inc production planning
- Responsible for the implementation and adherence of Clients’s policies and procedures, including health& safety and environmental.
- Responsible for site’s quality policies and procedures, in line with registered documents stored within the Management Information System.
- Provide clear and concise leadership and support to the Operations Management Team
- Work closely with the other business sites to ensure the effective management and delivery of all customer assets.
- Manage, review, and report all overtime, holiday and sick absences related to the operations team.
- Help manage the production process, managing the production schedules in line with the customer requirements and the overall needs of the business.
- Monitoring product standards and implementing quality-control programs as required
- Manage the selection, procurement and ongoing maintenance of equipment (TPM)
- Ensure that the production function is cost effective – monitoring the human, material and capital resources in the correct way to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity.
- Ensure that all company procedures are adhered to – these include health and safety, quality and standard operating procedures.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and to communicate these opportunities to the relevant people, in the most appropriate way depending upon the situation.
- Provide daily feedback to operations teams and business leadership team daily – based on adherence to schedules, quality, cost, delivery, and performance following SPQVC methodology.
- Manage recruitment and selection of the Operations team to ensure that all staff are adequately trained, motivated, and developed to the required standards within the agreed budgets.
- Conduct Return to work interviews in accordance with the Company’s Attendance Policy
- Conduct and issue appropriate Disciplinary action as and when required.
Qualifications and skills required as an Operations Manager:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task.
- Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, in particular).
- Knowledge of QHSE Legislation.
- The ability to manage resources.
- Proven experience in leading a team.
- Proven experience to work as part of a team.
- Displays a good attitude towards work, and the aims and objectives of the company.
- Strong interpersonal skills and diligence when dealing staff matters.
- Proven experience and knowledge in the selection and maintenance of the equipment.
- Knowledge of HR policies and experience of conducting interviews.
