Production Operator – Permanent Role
Location: Port Talbot
Pay: £12.21 per hour + 30% shift allowance (up to £15.87/hour)
Shifts: Rotating 3-shift pattern
- Days: 06:00–14:00
- Afternoons: 14:00–22:00
- Nights: 22:00–06:00
Holidays: 24 days annual leave + Bank Holidays
Factory Shutdowns: Annual leave required during planned closures (2 weeks in summer, 2 weeks at Christmas, 1 week at Easter)
About the Company
A well-established manufacturer in the industrial packaging sector is seeking a skilled Production Operative to join their permanent team. While the company does not operate in the food industry, candidates must have previous experience working in food production environments due to the high standards of hygiene, precision, and quality required.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor production machinery to maintain consistent quality
- Perform detailed quality checks and maintain accurate production records
- Follow strict health & safety and standard operating procedures
- Collaborate with colleagues across all shifts to meet production targets
- Assist with basic maintenance and troubleshooting when needed
What We’re Looking For
Essential Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Clear communication and teamwork across shifts
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-spec environment
- Previous experience in food manufacturing or food-grade production settings
Desirable Experience:
- Familiarity with FMCG processes
- Knowledge of tin plate printing or flat-to-cylinder printing
- Experience in precision-based production roles
