Production Operator

Location: Buckfastleigh, Devon
Hours: Monday to Friday, 0600am – 14.30pm

Pay: £12.21ph rising to £12.60ph

gap personnel are recruiting for a Production Operator to join a busy food and drink production site in Buckfastleigh, Devon. This is a hands-on, physically demanding role within a fast-paced production environment, with an immediate start available.

You will be working as part of a small, high-performing team and must be able to work efficiently, safely, and with strong attention to detail while maintaining required production speeds.

Key Responsibilities

• Manually handle, lift, and measure ingredients for drink production
• Operate and monitor production machinery and equipment safely
• Work efficiently on bottling and packaging lines, maintaining required line speeds
• Use online systems via handheld devices to track production and inventory
• Complete production paperwork and maintain accurate records
• Clean and sanitise machinery and work areas in line with hygiene standards
• Organise work to support the following day’s production
• Support the team to minimise downtime and maintain continuous production flow

Requirements

• Manual handling and lifting (this role is physically demanding)
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
• Ability to work well within a team environment
• Self-motivated and able to work independently when required
• Organised and proactive, particularly when planning ahead
• High attention to detail to meet quality and food safety standards
• Good communication skills
• Basic numeracy and literacy skills
• Comfortable using digital systems and handheld devices
