Quality, Health and Safety Manager – Newport
Salary: £45,000 P/A
Job Type: Permanent, Full-time
Working hours: Mon – Fri – 8am-5pm
We are seeking an experienced Quality, Health and Safety Manager to join a manufacturing company based in Newport.
The Role:
The Quality, Health and Safety Manager will be responsible for compliance and delivery of quality and health and safety across the site. The successful candidate will have experience of a similar role in a manufacturing environment.
Main Duties:
- To lead and maintain compliance with all applicable Health, Safety and Environmental guidelines and legislation across the site
- Responsible for the attainment and compliance of relevant Quality and Health and safety accreditations such as ISO 9001 etc.
- Completing and documenting internal risk assessments
- To be responsible for accident and incident investigations and causes
- Carry out internal Health and Safety and Quality internal audits and action any identified outstanding points
- Responsible for maintaining and delivering the companies Quality Management system
- Understanding customer specific needs and requirements to develop effective quality control in the manufacturing processes
- Liaise with customers on any quality related issues
- Liaise with external service providers on quality related issues such as suppliers, contractors etc.
- Produce and monitor effectiveness of internal quality documentation
- To provide training and guidance to colleagues in order to achieve the objectives set out by the Quality, Health and Safety manager
- To identify and implement continuous improvement opportunitues to improve efficiency and introduce new policies and procedures where required
- To integrate within a small team and drive for continuous improvement whilst maintaining a proactive and productive ethos
About You:
- 3 years minimum experience in a Quality and Health and Safety Role
- 3 years experience in a manufacturing environment
- Up to date knowledge and understanding of ISO 9001 standard
- Knowledge of the ISO 14001 standard is desirable
- NEBOSH qualified
- Familiarity with COSHH and hazardous material control
- Experience of being customer facing
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Consciencious and a keen eye for detail
