Technical & Quality Supervisor
Food Manufacturing | Somerset
Permanent | Days-based role
Salary: £35,000 per annum (DOE)
We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established food manufacturing business in Somerset who are looking to appoint an experienced Technical & Quality Supervisor to support and lead site-wide quality, compliance, and continuous improvement activity.
This is a hands-on role with real influence on standards, culture, and audit performance, reporting directly into site leadership.
The Opportunity
You’ll be responsible for ensuring products are manufactured right-first-time, fully compliant with legal, customer, and certification requirements — including preparing the site for BRC audits and maintaining ongoing audit readiness.
This role suits someone who enjoys being visible on the factory floor, leading by example, and working closely with Operations, Planning, and Commercial teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain legal and quality compliance across all manufactured products
- Lead and embed a right-first-time quality culture on site
- Manage non-conformance processes and drive continuous improvement
- Act as the technical lead for customer, regulatory, third-party and BRC audits
- Ensure the site is audit-ready at all times, driving standards across GMP, hygiene, and documentation
- Own HACCP and TACCP systems and ongoing compliance
- Oversee internal audits across equipment, processes, paperwork, and facilities
- Manage external laboratory testing, results tracking, and reporting
- Ensure hygiene, chemical control, and GMP standards are consistently met
- Support customer complaint investigation using root cause analysis
- Provide technical input into site KPIs, reporting, and board-level updates
- Coach and develop the technical team, ensuring training and flexibility
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in a Technical / Quality role within food manufacturing
- Previous hands-on experience working to BRC standards, including preparing sites for audit
- Strong knowledge of food safety, quality systems, and compliance
- Confident leading audits and managing corrective actions
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with Operations and Supply Chain
- Practical, proactive approach with a continuous improvement mindset
