Job Title: Retail Catering Manager

Band: NHS Band 6
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Location: Cardiff
Start Date: Immediate (subject to compliance)


Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Retail Catering Manager to lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of our NHS retail catering services. This is a key role focused on delivering high-quality, customer-focused food services across our retail outlets, ensuring compliance with NHS standards and driving continuous improvement.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the operational delivery of retail catering services across the site
  • Lead and motivate catering teams to ensure excellent customer service and food quality
  • Monitor and manage budgets, stock levels, and supplier relationships
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations
  • Implement and maintain quality assurance systems and service standards
  • Drive innovation in menus, promotions, and customer engagement
  • Collaborate with clinical and non-clinical teams to support patient and staff wellbeing
  • Produce regular reports on performance, customer feedback, and KPIs

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven experience in retail catering management, ideally within a healthcare or large-scale public sector environment
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations
  • Financial acumen and experience managing budgets
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Fully compliant and ready for immediate start

Desirable:

  • Relevant qualifications in hospitality, catering, or management
  • Experience working within NHS or similar public sector organisations
