gap personnel helps create permanent jobs in Wrexham
More than a dozen agency workers have secured permanent jobs with a world-leading electronics manufacturer thanks to Wrexham-based recruitment firm gap personnel.
Some 14 people have been taken on by Brother Industries UK, which recently marked 25 years in North Wales. The new starters will work as full-time production operatives at the firm's Ruabon site, which manufactures electronic products and recycles toner cartridges.
The latest intake means more than 30 temporary workers supplied by gap personnel have gone on to secure permanent contracts with Brother Industries in the past year.
Gary Richards, manager of gap personnel's Wrexham branch, said: "It's always rewarding to see temporary placements converting into permanent roles with employers, and the fact that we’ve had more than 30 success stories with Brother Industries in the past year despite the economic climate is particularly pleasing.
"There is a lot of doom and gloom around regarding the economy but this just goes to show that there are jobs out there if you are prepared to roll your sleeves up and work hard.
"Brother Industries is a major employer in the Wrexham area and we enjoy working in partnership with them to get jobseekers young and old into employment."
Brother Industries' Ruabon site, on Vauxhall Industrial Estate, was established in 1985 and now employs around 220 people, the majority of whom live in the area - with many having worked for the company for 15 - 20 years.
Graham Halliwell, HR (human resources) manager at Brother Industries UK, said: "We have an excellent understanding with gap, which continues to play a key role in developing the strength of our workforce.
"If agency workers come to us and show the right attitude then we will always consider bringing them onto our books and making them Brother employees."
