gap raise £860 for MNDA through charity run
On March 8, a team of gap personnel staff from Wrexham, Flint and Crewe branches took part in the inaugural Wrexham Half Marathon.
The race drew over 750 athletes to the town, far exceeding the expectations of the organisers, and despite the best efforts of the wet weather to put a dampener on the day, saw a fantastic turnout.
The team comprised of Managing Director Mark Roberts, North Wales Area Manager Gary Richards, North West Area Manager Andrew Spice as well as John Rounding, Ian Piercy, Jack Roycroft and Lauren Groom. Special mention must go to Jack and Lauren as Jack was only six seconds away from breaking the 1 hour 40 minutes barrier, while Lauren came fifth in her category.
As part of gap personnel's commitment to supporting local charities, the team selected the Clwyd branch of the Motor Neurone Disease Association, and in the process raised over £850 in donations to this fantastic cause.
John Rounding, Senior Account Manager at gap's Wrexham branch said "It was a great effort by all of the members of the team. Un-phased by the weather and the distance, everyone involved completed the course, and I would like to say on behalf of all involved, a massive thanks to everyone who donated towards such a worthy cause, helping us raise such an impressive total."
