Holyhead Town FC sponsored by gap

The gap personnel group are ensuring that a local North Wales football team look the part through a new sponsorship deal for the 2017/18 season.

As well as Connah’s Quay Nomads in the Welsh Premier League, the national recruiter also sponsor multiple other local sides, including Llay Miner’s Welfare and Brickfield Rangers, and now Holyhead Town have become the latest side to be sponsored by the industrial recruitment specialists.

The new home kit, a white kit with sky blue trim, and the new away kit, a yellow shit with red trim, are manufactured by Teejac Sports, who The Harbourmen have worked with for a number of seasons.

Holyhead Town currently play in the Welsh Gwynedd Football League and recently won their first round FAW Trophy to progress to a second round tie against Conwy Borough.

The connection between gap personnel and football in Holyhead traces its roots back through North Wales-based Senior Account Manager, Mark Cunningham, whose father originally played for Holyhead Town in the 1950’s and 60’s having originally come over from Dublin to play for the club along with a number of other players, who all eventually moved to North Wales. Mark’s father played alongside some of the Club’s legends, including club record goalscorer, Tommy Welsh, whose son, Jackie has actually signed for the newly reformed club this season.

Mark commented; “Holyhead Town is in my DNA, as it is with the players and families mentioned above – if my dad hadn’t made the move across from Ireland to play for Holyhead Town, we would all be drinking Guiness and talking in an Irish accent – the rest they say is history.”

gap personnel group CEO Gary Dewhurst added; “gap are heavily involved in a number of local communities through our strong sporting ties, and we are thrilled to help Holyhead Town look the part this season.”
