Seamless onboarding: A quick guide for temporary workers

We know that looking for a new job can be a bit of a task – all that trawling through job websites, trying to find something that’s right for you. And then, when you think you’ve found your ideal role – what’s that – you have to upload your CV? And they want you to come into branch to complete some paperwork?! Fear not – here at gap personnel, it’s our aim to make the onboarding process as easy as possible for all of our applicants. So, whether you favour the traditional route of speaking to someone face-to-face, or you prefer to apply from the comfort of your own home, we’ve got an application solution to suit your needs.

Below we'll walk you through the key steps of our temporary worker onboarding process, demonstrating how simple it really is to kickstart your career with gap personnel. We're committed to making your experience with us efficient and enjoyable (yes you heard it here first – job hunting can be enjoyable!).

1.    Apply or register online
You can apply for any of our live jobs on our website. Our jobs page can be filtered by location, job type, and contract type, so you can find something that’s the perfect fit for you. If you’d like to register your interest for any upcoming placements with your local team, you can send them a message on our contact us page - it won’t be long before one of the team gets in touch.

2.    Complete your registration with gap personnel
Next, we’ll need just a little bit more information in order to progress your application. Once you hit “apply” you’ll be redirected to our secure registration portal. We’ve made it super easy to do this online – but don’t worry if you can’t, it’ll be a short visit to branch just so we can take some copies of your paperwork. If you complete your registration online, we’ll send you a video link so we can introduce ourselves, have a chat about the role you’ve applied for, and complete a final compliance check. The power of the internet, eh?

3.    Let’s get you ready for placement
Once we’ve boxed off all the initial admin to get you compliantly registered, it’s time to get ready for placement! That might mean completing some suitability assessments, especially if the company you’re working for have certain skill requirements. You might also need to attend an induction where you’ll meet the site team and learn more about the role and working environment. You’ll be given any PPE or uniform you need to start work, and we’ll make sure you’ve got all your official bits and bobs including a key information document and your contract.

4.    Time to start work
We’ll make sure you know exactly where you’re meant to be and who you will be meeting on your first day. And we’ll check in with you after your first shift and regularly throughout your placement to see how you’re getting on. Got something you need to discuss? Give us a call - we’re at the other end of the phone 24/7.

From the moment you express your interest in a role, to the day you start your temporary placement and throughout, our goal is to make the process hassle-free for you. We handle the paperwork, compliance checks, and communication with our client companies, so you can focus on what you do best - your job.
