π CNC Machinist
π Deeside, North Wales
πΌ Permanent Role | Up to £43,000 per annum
π Monday to Friday | 7:30am–4:00pm
π From early 2027: Rotating weekly shifts of 6am–2pm & 2pm–10pm + shift premium

You’ll work as part of an experienced engineering and manufacturing team, with the opportunity to take ownership of challenging machining work and contribute to ongoing improvements across the production environment.
βοΈ The Role
You will set, program and operate CNC vertical machining centres to manufacture precision components and tooling to tight tolerances.
You’ll be responsible for taking work from engineering drawings through to finished components, selecting the right tooling and work-holding methods, carrying out setups and inspections, and making programming or machining adjustments where required.
π― Key Responsibilities
· Set, program and operate CNC vertical machining centres, ideally Haas VF-Series
· Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T and technical specifications
· Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, work-holding equipment and machine offsets
· Carry out machine setups, first-off inspections and in-process quality checks
· Create, modify and optimise CNC programs using G-code and conversational programming
· Identify and troubleshoot machining, tooling and programming issues
· Manufacture and repair tooling, fixtures, spare parts and machine components
· Use precision measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, height gauges and bore gauges
· Maintain accurate production and inspection records
· Work safely and maintain high standards of housekeeping and machine care
· Support Lean, 5S and continuous improvement activities across the manufacturing operation
β You’ll Ideally Have…
· 5+ years’ CNC machining experience within a manufacturing environment
· Strong experience setting and operating CNC vertical machining centres
· Haas experience, preferably VF-Series, would be advantageous
· Understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T
· Experience with CNC programming, setups, tooling, offsets and inspection
· Strong knowledge of milling, cutting tools and machining a range of metals
· Experience using CAD/CAM software
· Strong mechanical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues and work independently
· A high level of attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety
