Hours & Pay: Monday to Friday 7am-4pm - £13.50 per hour

About the Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Despatch Operative / Tractor Driver to join a busy operations and transport team based in Deeside. This hands-on role is ideal for someone with experience operating tractors, trailers, or yard equipment who enjoys working in a fast-paced outdoor environment.

The successful candidate will support the safe and efficient running of yard and transport operations, ensuring vehicles are loaded, moved, and dispatched safely and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

Vehicle & Equipment Movement

• Safely move and manoeuvre trailers, vehicles, and equipment around the yard and operational areas
• Operate tractors and yard vehicles to support daily operations
• Reverse and position trailers accurately within a busy yard environment

Loading & Transport Operations

• Load HGV vehicles in line with operational schedules and procedures
• Secure loads using straps and approved restraint systems
• Coordinate incoming and outgoing transport movements
• Support drivers and transport personnel during loading and dispatch activities

Yard Organisation & Safety

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment
• Ensure trailers, materials, and equipment are stored correctly
• Follow all health and safety procedures and report hazards or defects promptly
• Carry out daily vehicle and equipment checks before use

Documentation & Communication

• Complete dispatch paperwork and loading records accurately
• Maintain clear operational records
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, drivers, and colleagues regarding transport activities

General Duties

• Work flexibly to support operational requirements across the site
• Provide occasional support at other locations when required
• Carry out additional duties consistent with the role
