HR Manager
Competitive Salary
Monday – Friday / 8:30am – 5pm / Flexibility required

Our client based in Deeside area is looking to recruit a HR Manager on a permanent basis. The HR Manager will lead the on‑site HR functions within a fast‑paced, food manufacturing environment, ensuring effective delivery of the full employee lifecycle. This role will provide expert guidance on employee relations, UK employment law, workforce planning, and talent development while supporting operational leaders to create a high‑performance, compliant, and engaged culture.
Performance Objectives
· Employee Relations (ER)
o Lead and oversee complex ER cases including disciplinary, grievance, capability, and absence management.
o Coach and support line managers to resolve issues early and appropriately.
o Ensure all ER activities comply with UK employment law and internal policies.
o Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of legislative changes affecting the business.
· HR Operations & Employee Lifecycle
o Manage delivery of the full HR lifecycle.
o Recruitment and onboarding.
o Induction and probation management.
o Performance and talent management.
o Training and development coordination.
o Engagement and retention initiatives.
o Offboarding and exit processes.
· Leadership & Team Management
o Lead and develop a team of three, ensuring high‑quality service delivery.
o Set clear objectives, monitor performance, and support professional development.
o Foster a collaborative, solutions‑focused team culture.
· Business Partnering
o Partner with operational managers to provide proactive HR support, advice and guidance.
o Support organisational change, workforce planning, and culture initiatives.
o Advise on HR best practice and support continuous improvement.
· Compliance, Reporting & Policy
o Ensure compliance with employment law, right‑to‑work checks, and audit requirements.
o Produce and analyse HR metrics and monthly reporting, undertaking analysis where appropriate.
o Review, update, and communicate HR policies and procedures.
o Keep platform updated and ensure compliance to and participation in audits.
· Learning & Development
o Develop and deliver HR capability development.
o Ensure all Managers are trained to understand signs of Modern Slavery within the workforce.
Person Specification
· Essential
o Proven experience as an HR Manager or Senior HR Advisor within a food manufacturing, FMCG, or operational setting.
o Strong knowledge of UK employment law and its application.
o Demonstrable experience handling the full spectrum of employee relations.
o Experience managing a small HR team.
o Experience delivering the full employee lifecycle within a busy, fast‑moving environment.
o Ability to influence, challenge, and coach managers at all levels.
o Strong communication, organisation, and problem‑solving skills.
· Desirable
o CIPD Level 7 (or working towards).
o Experience supporting continuous improvement or Lean initiatives.
o Knowledge of HR systems and data reporting tools.
· Behaviours
o Approachable, credible, and confident when interacting with all levels of the organisation.
o Proactive, solutions‑driven, and commercially aware.
o Strong integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
o Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment
