About the Role

Gap Personnel is recruiting motivated and reliable Production Labourer on behalf of our client based in Barnsley. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established manufacturing team in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment.

You will play a key role in operating machinery, maintaining product quality, and supporting continuous improvement efforts—all while ensuring safety and efficiency on the production line.

Shift Pattern & Pay:

🕒 Continental Shifts (4 on / 4 off):

• Days: 06:00 – 18:00

• Nights: 18:00 – 06:00

💰 Pay:

• £13.07 per hour basic

• • £1.31 per hour shift allowance

• Annual Salary: £31,498.20

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate production machinery in line with customer requirements and quality standards

• Meet daily production and quality targets

• Ensure safe operation of equipment at all times

• Carry out minor machine adjustments and basic maintenance

• Monitor and report on product quality

• Maintain accurate records of production data

• Communicate effectively with team members, especially during shift handovers

• Support 5S, TPM, and other lean manufacturing initiatives

• Maintain a clean and safe working environment

Skills & Experience:

✅ Experience operating machinery in a high-volume manufacturing setting (preferred)
✅ Good numeracy, literacy, and communication skills
✅ Strong team player with the ability to work independently
✅ Flexible and adaptable to meet shift and production demands
✅ Familiarity with lean tools such as 5S, TPM, and visual management is desirable
