Pay Rate: £17.18

Contract: Temp to perm

Days: Monday - Friday

Hours: 8.00am to 5.00pm

Gap Personnel is currently recruiting a Transport Assistant. This role operates within the Sales & Transport department to support the sales team and to ensure the timely delivery of products to the end customer. Reporting directly to the Sales Manager. The main purpose of this role is to support the existing team.

Main Responsibilities

• Generate and maintain daily sales plans.
• Collate actual weights daily by grower into the sales master sheet.
• Take customer orders
• Update frozen stock sheets
• Log despatch note data 
• Print invoices from Niche and check invoices off against the sales book
• Check stocks at the end of the day - advise customers of shortages
• Run reports from Niche
• Arrange transport - using both our own drivers and third-party hauliers, using the most cost-effective way to get deliveries to customers.
• Talk to external cold stores, reference booking frozen loads in and out for timely uplift to meet customers' requirements.
• Communicating to the relevant teams all sales and transport issues.
• Develop and maintain other spreadsheets within the sales and transport department.

Knowledge, skills and experience required

Previous experience in sales or transport

Excellent verbal  and written communication skills

Problem solving

Flexible on hours worked

• Organised with good timekeeping
• Excellent verbal and written English
• Excellent attention to detail 
• Good general understanding of PC applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel

Working Shifts and Hours:

• Monday to Friday, 08:00am - 5:00pm

Hourly Pay Rates

£ 17.18 per hour
