Job description
Gap Personnel are currently recruiting for a Production and Facilities Supporter to work with our client based in Oldbury.
Details:
- £14.00 per hour
- Temp to perm role
- 8am to 4.15pm Monday to Thursday and 8am till 1.30pm Friday - £14.00
The Person:
- A positive attitude and willingness to support different areas of the business.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Practical, hands-on approach with basic maintenance or handyman skills.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues across all departments.
- A forklift truck licence essential.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, production, warehouse, facilities, or maintenance environment would be beneficial.
The Role:
- Work closely with Site Team Leaders to support daily production activities and ensure materials, tools, and equipment are available when required.
- Transport goods, components, and materials between the shop floor, stores, and other departments in a safe and timely manner.
- Manage production jigs, ensuring the correct jigs are issued to production teams and returned to storage after use.
- Maintain the jig storage area, ensuring it remains clean, organised, and clearly labelled.
- Store paints and related materials in designated storage areas in accordance with company procedures and safety requirements.
- Put away consumables in the designated stores area and maintain accurate stock levels.
- Conduct weekly stock checks and report low stock levels to the relevant manager.
- Assist with goods receipt, storage, and internal movement of materials throughout the facility.
- Support production cells during busy periods by assisting with assembly, packing, material preparation, or other production-related tasks as required.
- Work alongside the Site Operations Manager to maintain high standards of housekeeping across the site.
- Carry out general cleaning and maintenance activities, including:
- Undertake general handyman duties, including assembling and installing storage racking, workbenches, tables, shelving, and other site equipment.
- Perform basic site maintenance tasks and report any building, equipment, or safety concerns to management.
- Assist with site improvement projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Adhere to all company Health & Safety procedures and contribute to maintaining a safe working environment.
