Job Title: Temporary Manufacturing Operative

Location: Chippenham, Wiltshire

Pay Rate: £14.00

Contract: Temporary

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

gap personnel Gloucester are recruiting for 1 Temporary Manufacturing Operative for an exciting business based in Wiltshire, developing a pioneering new technology to support the worlds net zero future. The company is now heading towards production after the launch of their first product, and we are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join their team.

For those that are able to demonstrate a strong work ethic, and a commitment to the working hours, there might be permanent opportunities available, and you are welcome to apply after completing your 3 months’ probation period.  

Main Duties:

  • Carry out mechanical assembly of boiler components and subassemblies.
  • Follow detailed manufacturing and assembly instructions accurately.
  • Use a range of hand tools such as torque wrenches, spanners, and Allen keys safely and effectively.
  • Operate production equipment in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Maintain accurate production and quality records.
  • Report any defects, non-conformances, or process issues promptly.
  • Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
  • Keep the work area clean and organised in line with company policies.

Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in a highly regulated manufacturing environment (e.g., automotive, aerospace, or electronics).
  • Experience working under an ISO 9001 quality management system preferred.
  • Ability to read and follow technical instructions, diagrams, and work orders precisely.
  • Experienced in the use of hand tools and precision assembly techniques.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining quality standards.
  • Good teamwork, reliability, and communication skills.
  • Physically capable of performing manual assembly tasks and standing for extended periods.
