Job Title: Production Operative – Cutting Room

Location: Gloucester GL2

Pay Rate: £12.60 p/h

Contract: Temp to Perm

gap personnel Gloucester are recruiting for 1 Production Operative in Cutting Room department for an ongoing temp to perm role for one of the definite British shirtmaker company.

As a Production Operative you will work accurately and you must be keen to learn the craft of garment cutting.  The successful applicant will be required to achieve daily production targets with the opportunity to earn a bonus.

For those that are able to demonstrate a strong work ethic, and a commitment, there are permanent opportunities available after completion of probation period.

Key duties and responsibilities:

    • Cut garments accurately in a timely manner to maintain a steady workflow throughout the factory.
    • Understand and accommodate for the intricacies associated with bespoke and RTW orders and cloths.
    • The candidate will gain an understanding of both hand and automated cutting.
    • Assisting with the day-to-day duties within a busy cutting room, recut components as and when required, use an industrial die cutter to prepare interlinings, mark, batch, and label panels, and maintain a tidy, clean environment. 
    • Using industrial and hand-cutting tools carefully and precisely.
    • Learn to cut efficiently to reduce waste
    • Inspection of cloth before cutting
    • Learning to handle and cut a diverse range of cloths.
    • The successful applicant will be required to achieve daily production targets with the opportunity to earn a bonus.
    • Full intensive training will be provided for this role.

The candidate must be:

    • Organised, hardworking & efficient
    • Willing with a can-do attitude
    • Experience in a garment manufacturing unit would be a bonus.
    • Basic Microsoft Windows knowledge/ basic computer literacy.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Strong written and spoken English language skills

Shifts and working hours:

  • Full-Time
  • Monday – Thursday: 7:45am – 4:30 pm

Friday: 7:45am – 1:30pm

Hourly Pay Rates

  • £12.60 per hour
