Shovel Loader Operator – (Production Environment)
Hours: 6am–2pm Days
Monday to Friday Pay: £13.43 per hour (weekly pay + overtime available)
Contract: Temporary to Permanent
A high‑throughput production facility based at Cardiff Docks is looking for an experienced Shovel Loader Operator to support continuous material flow. This role is centred on feeding machinery, managing stockpiles, and ensuring consistent supply to keep production running efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating a shovel loader to feed raw materials into hoppers, conveyors, and processing lines
- Maintaining steady material flow to meet production targets
- Managing stockpiles and moving bulk materials safely and efficiently
- Carrying out daily machine checks and reporting defects
- Working closely with production teams to maintain output and minimise downtime
- Upholding site safety standards and maintaining a clean working area
What You’ll Need
- Proven experience operating a shovel loader in a production, bulk‑handling, or similar environment
- A full UK driving licence (site not accessible via public transport)
- Strong awareness of safety procedures and ability to work independently
- Reliability, good communication skills, and a proactive approach to keeping production moving
