Welder / Fabricator – MIG
Location: Malmesbury, SN16
Pay Rate: £14.00 per hour + Overtime + Progression
Job Type: Temp to Perm
gap personnel are currently recruiting on behalf of a growing manufacturing business for a skilled Welder / Fabricator to join their production team. This role involves working on the build and assembly of industrial driers, offering long-term opportunities for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- MIG welding mild steel across a range of thicknesses
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings independently
- Fabrication and fitting of components, including alignment, shafts, and drive systems
- Ensuring all work meets required safety and quality standards
- Working on large structures, requiring good physical fitness and agility
- Maintaining high attention to detail throughout the build process
Requirements:
- Proven experience in MIG welding (mild steel)
- Ability to read and work from technical drawings without supervision
- Strong fabrication and fitting skills
- Good understanding of workplace health & safety practices
- Reliable, motivated, and able to work as part of a team
- Full UK driving licence and access to own transport (essential due to site location)
Pay & Benefits:
- £14.00 per hour (Temp to Perm)
- Up to 4 hours overtime available daily paid at 1.5x rate
- Opportunity to go permanent after 12 weeks
- Performance-related bonuses post-permanent (typically worth an additional £1/hour)
