Employer Engagement Officer

Salary: £25,000 – £27,000 per annum
Location: East Wales
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 4:30pm

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established and employee-owned organisation for an experienced Employer Engagement Officer to join their team, covering East Wales.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in recruitment, employer engagement or employability who enjoys building relationships, working towards targets and supporting individuals into sustainable employment.

The Role

As an Employer Engagement Officer, you will provide operational support to ensure the successful delivery of the Jobs Guarantee Programme.

The role combines participant engagement, employer relationship management, administration and programme coordination. You will play an important part in supporting participants throughout their journey, from referral and onboarding through to job matching, employment and ongoing support.

You will work closely with internal teams and external employers to identify suitable opportunities and ensure participants receive the right support to progress into employment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the referral process and coordinate participant onboarding activities.
  • Maintain regular contact with participants to encourage engagement, attendance and progression.
  • Maintain accurate participant records and programme documentation.
  • Support the collection of evidence relating to job outcomes and sustained employment.
  • Coordinate the scheduling of training sessions, workshops and employer interviews.
  • Liaise with internal teams to ensure participants progress effectively through each stage of the programme.
  • Identify suitable employment opportunities that match participants' skills and aspirations.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with employers and clients.
  • Support communication with participants following their transition into employment.
  • Assist with employer engagement, networking and business development activities.
  • Work towards programme and commercial targets while maintaining a high standard of customer service.

About You

We are looking for a confident, motivated and commercially focused individual who can build strong relationships with both employers and participants.

You will be comfortable working in a target-driven environment and have the communication skills required to engage with a wide range of people. A background in recruitment, employability or client relationship management would be highly beneficial.

Essential Requirements

  • Previous experience within recruitment.
  • Experience working with unemployed adults.
  • Experience working within a target-driven, commercial environment.
  • Strong client relationship management skills.
  • Excellent networking and relationship-building abilities.
  • Experience of cold calling and business development.
  • Strong presentation and report-writing skills.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Full driving licence and access to your own vehicle.

Desirable

  • Welsh-speaking ability.
