Counterbalance forklift driver required for our client based in Wymondham

Role: Forklift Driver  

Pay rate: £14.62ph

Hours: 08.00-18.00 /09.00-19.00

Shifts: Once trained shift are rotational - 06.00-16.00/09.00-19.00/10.00-20.00

Location: Wymondham NR18

Type: Temp to perm for the right candidate  

 Duties:

  • Safely operate a forklift to load, unload, move, and stack goods.
  • Carry out daily pre-use safety checks and report any defects.
  • Load and unload vehicles efficiently while following safe working procedures.
  • Assist and attend to drivers upon arrival at the depot, and ensuring site safety requirements are followed.
  • Secure and position loads correctly to prevent damage during handling and transport.
  • Store stock accurately in designated warehouse locations.
  • Pick, move, and prepare goods for dispatch as required.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised warehouse and loading area.
  • Follow all health and safety policies, including the safe use of equipment and PPE.
  • Report damaged goods, stock discrepancies, accidents, or near misses promptly.
  • Work closely with warehouse staff, drivers, and supervisors to ensure efficient operations.

Experience/Qualifications

  • Previous experience operating a counterbalance forklift in a warehouse, depot, or distribution environment.
  • Must hold a valid, in-date Counterbalance Forklift Truck (FLT) licence/certificate.
  • Experience loading and unloading HGVs and commercial vehicles safely and efficiently.
  • Confident in attending to drivers on arrival, checking documentation, and directing them to the correct loading/unloading area.
  • Good understanding of warehouse health and safety procedures.
  • Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high safety standards.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently when required.
  • Experience with stock handling, goods-in/goods-out processes, and manual handling is desirable.
