Location: Wymondham
Employment Type: Full-Time-Temp to Perm
Salary: £13.50-£17.00 P/H DOE
Schedule: 06:00-14:00 (Mon-Fri) 40 hours Overtime & Weekend Work Available

Gap Personnel is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing industrial manufacturer for the position of Maintenance Technician. This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking production team and play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of machinery and equipment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine maintenance, including inspection, cleaning, lubrication, and repairs on production machinery and equipment.

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions to minimize downtime.

  • Perform preventive maintenance activities in line with established schedules.

  • Coordinate with production supervisors to prioritize tasks and limit production disruption.

  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, work orders, and repairs.

  • Monitor machinery performance and recommend improvements to enhance reliability and safety.

  • Support the installation and commissioning of new equipment.

  • Adhere to all health and safety procedures and company policies.

  • Maintain spare parts inventory and coordinate with suppliers when required.

  • Collaborate with external contractors for specialized repairs or servicing.


Preferred Qualifications & Skills (Not Essential):

  • High school diploma or equivalent. Technical certification in Mechanical, Plumbing, Gas or Heating Engineering is advantageous.

  • Recognized qualification such as City & Guilds 6035 Level 2/3 or equivalent.

  • Proven experience in a maintenance technician role within an industrial or manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, manuals, schematics, and diagrams.

  • Familiarity with machinery such as pumps, compressors, ovens, and conveyors.

  • Understanding of safety regulations related to industrial maintenance.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.

  • Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team.

  • Flexibility to work occasional overtime or weekends as required.

  • Physical capability to perform manual tasks, including lifting, bending, and working in tight spaces.
