Grounds Operative – Norwich City Centre

£12.60 per hour | ⏰ 37 hours per week | 5 days out of 7 (weekend flexibility required)
Full-Time | Temp to Perm | Immediate Start

Gap Personnel is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a well-respected client based in Norwich City Centre for a full-time Grounds Operative. This is a fantastic temp-to-perm opportunity to join a service-driven, environmentally focused team committed to maintaining and improving local green spaces and public areas.

About the Role:

You’ll be working as part of an active grounds maintenance team, supporting the upkeep of:

• Parks and open spaces

• Housing estates

• Highway verges and communal areas

This is a hands-on, physical role that offers training across multiple areas, including:

• Grass cutting

• Hedge and shrub trimming

• Litter picking

• Use of grounds maintenance tools and equipment

Key Duties:

• Perform general grounds maintenance (e.g. pruning, mowing, hedge cutting)

• Carry out basic care and maintenance of tools and machinery

• Drive vehicles across sites (must hold a valid UK driving licence)

• Ensure all health & safety procedures are followed

• Accurately complete paperwork and site records

• Assist with any other duties as requested by the team leader

✅ What You’ll Need:

• Valid UK driving licence (essential due to nature of the role)

• Previous experience in grounds maintenance, gardening, landscaping or similar

• Good attention to detail and willingness to learn new skills

• Flexibility to work weekends as part of a rota

• Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weathers
