Shift: Monday to Friday 4pm - 12am
Basic Pay Rate: £12.74 - £16.94 per hour

Due to continual business growth, gap personnel are currently seeking new team members to join the diverse, friendly, and passionate team at Yeo Valley. Based at their stunning site in Crewkerne, we have a Hygiene Operative position available.

As a Hygiene Operative, you will become an important part of the site operations team, responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene across production areas. You will support the delivery of daily KPI’s and targets by ensuring equipment, machinery, and workspaces are cleaned and sanitised in line with strict food safety standards.

As a Hygiene Operative, your role will include:

• Carrying out scheduled and deep cleaning of production lines, machinery, and surrounding areas.

• Ensuring cleaning procedures are completed in accordance with site specifications and food safety standards.

• Safely handling and using cleaning chemicals in line with COSHH regulations.

• Dismantling and reassembling equipment where required for thorough cleaning.

• Working collaboratively with production and technical teams to minimise downtime and maintain hygiene standards.

• Demonstrating a strong commitment to H&S by working safely, role modelling safety behaviours, challenging unsafe practices, and escalating concerns when necessary.

• Supporting the site’s quality management system, ensuring all cleaning documentation and records are accurately completed.

• Escalating any hygiene, food safety, or quality concerns immediately to the relevant team members.

• Adhering to company hygiene standards, PPE requirements, and dress code, whilst maintaining a ‘Clean as You Go’ approach and high housekeeping standards.

Passionate; Pro-active; Able to work well within a team; Able to undertake manual and physical tasks; Comfortable working at pace; Good communication skills; Strong awareness of H&S; Understanding of Basic Food Hygiene; Previous experience in hygiene or food production environments (desirable).
