Job title: Foundry Operative

Location: Gloucester

Pay rate: £13.27 upto £16.50

Contract: Temporary to Permanent

 

Gap Personnel is recruiting on behalf of a highly respected Gloucester-based manufacturer specialising in high-grade aluminium casting alloys, master alloys, and grain refining products, all produced to internationally recognised specifications.

We are currently looking for Foundry Operatives to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to secure a long-term position with training, progression opportunities, and excellent benefits.

The Role

Working within a small team, you will be responsible for:

  • Safely operating Gas-Fired and Induction Melting equipment
  • Casting finished products using automated casting machinery
  • Following written melt instruction sheets accurately
  • Maintaining high standards of health and safety
  • Working in a physically demanding manufacturing environment
  • Full training and supervision provided

Shifts Available

Permanent Days

  • Monday to Thursday
  • 6:00am - 6:00pm
  • 46 hours per week

Permanent Nights (once fully trained)

  • Sunday to Wednesday
  • 6:00pm - 6:00am
  • 46 hours per week
  • Additional night shift allowance paid

Pay & Benefits - applies only once become permanent member

  • £13.27 per hour
  • *Upto £16.50 per hour on night shift once fully trained
  • Progression opportunities into supervisory roles
  • Regular overtime available

What We're Looking For

  • Previous manufacturing or foundry experience required
  • Reliable with a strong attendance record
  • Good communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
  • Awareness of Health & Safety procedures
  • Reasonable level of physical fitness due to the nature of the work
  • FLT Counterbalance experience would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of working with liquid metal would be beneficial but is not essential
