Job Title: Manufacturing operative  

Location: Gloucester

Pay Rate: £12.21 p/h

Shift: Monday To Thursday 07:00-16:00, Friday 07:00-15:30

Contract: Temporary ongoing with permanent opportunities available

Gap personnel in Gloucester are looking for a reliable Manufacturing Operative to assist in the handling, processing, and production of wooden products. The role involves working with timber materials, operating machinery, and ensuring products meet quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and store timber and wood materials
• Cut, measure, and assemble wooden panels according to specifications
• Operate machinery such as saws, sanders, and presses (training provided if needed)
• Maintain a clean and organized warehouse and work area
• Perform quality checks on finished panels to ensure accuracy and durability
• Pack and prepare finished products for dispatch
• Follow health and safety guidelines when handling tools and materials
• Assist with stock control and inventory checks

Skills & Requirements

• Previous warehouse or woodworking experience preferred 
• Ability to use hand tools and basic machinery
• Good physical fitness (lifting and manual handling required)
• Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Basic understanding of health and safety practice

This is a physical role and will suit someone used to manually handling products.

Good English is required for this role due to the communication required between operatives and supervisors. This is for speed, accuracy and safety purposes.
