Job Title: Counterbalance Forklift Operative

Location: Ledbury
Contract Type: Temp to Perm
Pay Rate: £13.75 per hour
Shift Pattern: Rotational Shifts (Monday to Friday)

  • Shift 1: 06:00 AM – 14:00 PM
  • Shift 2: 14:00 PM – 22:30 PM

The company offers excellent opportunities for long-term, stable employment, with the potential to transition to a permanent contract after 12 weeks, depending on performance.

Please note: this role involves working in chilled and freezer environments, with temperatures ranging from 0°C down to -18°C.


Key Responsibilities:

Forklift Operations:

  • Operating a Counterbalance Forklift Truck safely and efficiently.
  • Loading and unloading goods from vehicles and storage areas.
  • Transporting stock across the warehouse and production areas.

Stock Management:

  • Picking stock from designated locations and moving it to required areas.
  • Replenishing stock within production and storage areas as needed.
  • Ensuring accurate stock rotation and storage.

Production Support:

  • Supplying production lines with required materials.
  • Removing finished goods and transporting them to storage or dispatch areas.

Quality & Safety:

  • Carrying out visual checks to ensure goods are undamaged and meet company standards.
  • Following all health & safety procedures at all times.
  • Maintaining a clean and organised work environment.

Labelling and Documentation:

  • Ensuring correct labelling and batch codes are applied where required.
  • Completing relevant paperwork and records accurately.

Environmental Conditions:

  • Working in chilled and freezer environments, with temperatures between 0°C to -18°C.
  • Suitable PPE will be provided; candidates must be comfortable working in these conditions.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence (essential).
  • Previous experience operating a forklift in a warehouse or production environment.
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy when handling stock.
  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious.

Basic Hours & Pay Rate:

  • Monday to Friday (Rotational Shifts)£13.75 per hour basic rate
    • 06:00 – 14:00
    • 14:00 – 22:30
  • Overtime paid after 48 hours
