Job Title: Skilled Machinist / Yard Operative

Location: Cheltenham GL51

Pay Rate: Up to £36,000 per Annum (depending on experience)

Contract: Pernament placement

 

Gap personnel Gloucester are recruiting for a Skilled Machnist/Yard Opeartive. The ideal candidate will be an experienced Timber Machinist/Yard Operative. Confident operating a panel saw, crosscut, straight line multi rip saw and moulder.

 

Key duties and responsibilities:

• Cut Timber accurately in a timely manner to maintain a steady workflow.
• Machining softwood and hardwood for stock and special orders
• Maintaining a well-managed and clean environment.
• Great teamworking skills to keep an efficient production flow.
• Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping at all times.
• Making sure a quality product is machined and professionally packaged.
• Assist colleagues to accurately prepare product for outgoing customer deliveries.
• Awareness of health & safety - at all times work in a safe and responsible manner so as not to endanger your colleagues, customers, stock, plant, machinery or buildings.
• Using industrial and hand-cutting tools carefully and precisely.

The candidate must be:

• Organised, hardworking & efficient
• Willing with a can-do attitude
• Experience in a Timber yard/wood cutting enviornment
• Basic computer literacy.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong written and spoken English language skills

Shifts and working hours:

• Full-Time
• Monday – Friday: 07:30am – 4:30 pm

Pay Rate:

Up to £36,000 Per Annum depending on experience
