Job Title: Quality Controller

Location: Ledbury, HR8

Pay Rate: £15.31 per hour + £40 Attendance bonus per week

Contract: Temporary – Seasonal

Length: 10 weeks with potential to be ongoing

Start date: Mid-June 2026 until end of August 2026

Role Summary:

gap personnel Gloucester branch is currently recruiting for the Quality Controller to support our client based in Ledbury, Herefordshire.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in laboratory and quality control within a fast-paced production environment. The successful candidate will support the Mill QC laboratory operations, ensuring accurate testing, equipment verification, and data recording to maintain product quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the key shift contact for the Mill QC laboratory
  • Perform daily verification checks on laboratory equipment
  • Collect and prepare samples from production areas
  • Conduct general wet chemistry testing including:
    • Acidity by Titration
    • Brix
    • Specific Gravity (SG)
    • Colour
    • Alcohol
  • Carry out fruit quality checks including weights, condition, and Brix measurements
    • Weights
    • Visual Quality / Condition checks against standard
    • Brix measurements
  • Compare results to specifications and report non-conformance
  • Accurately enter laboratory data into SAP
  • Manage stock taking and inventory control of laboratory chemicals
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised laboratory environment
  • Support the wider Quality and Production teams as required

Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Computer literate with confidence using data systems (SAP experience desirable)
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Desirable:

  • Experience of analytical testing within a beverage or food production environment

Panama Shift Pattern:

Monday – Tuesday, 6am – 6pm

Wednesday – Thursday off

Friday, Saturday, Sunday, 6pm – 6am

Monday – Tuesday off

Wednesday – Thursday 6am – 6pm

Friday, Saturday, Sunday off

Monday – Tuesday, 6pm – 6am

Wednesday – Thursday off­­­­

Friday, Saturday, Sunday, 6am – 6pm

Monday – Tuesday off

Wednesday – Thursday 6pm – 6am

Please note it’s a set requirement to attend these shifts, adjustments to the shifts will not be made.

Pay Rate:

  • £15.31 per hour + *Attendance Bonus = £40 per full week attended *(payable on the last week of assignment)

Start date: Mid-June 2026 until end of August 2026
