Job description
We are looking for a reliable and physically fit Loader to work alongside a Refuse Collection Vehicle Driver.
No driving is required.
The Role will involve working as part of a two-person team, collecting wheelie bins and safely loading them onto the refuse collection vehicle.
Role: Loader
Pay: £13.45 per hour
Shifts: 4 days on / 4 days off
Hours: 7:00am – 6:00pm - 42 hours per week
Type: Temporary
Duties:
- Work alongside the RCV driver during daily refuse collections.
- Get out of the vehicle and collect wheelie bins from properties.
- Attach bins safely to the vehicle's lifting mechanism.
- Operate the bin-lifting equipment to empty bins into the vehicle.
- Return bins safely to their original position.
- Keep collection areas safe and tidy.
- Follow all company health and safety procedures.
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Maintain a professional, reliable and positive approach throughout the shift.
Requirements:
- Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors.
- Comfortable with a physically active role involving walking, lifting and repetitive movement.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Able to work effectively as part of a two-person team.
- Good awareness of health and safety.
- Previous refuse collection or waste industry experience is beneficial but not essential.
- Full training can be provided.
