Job description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to join our client’s team on a part-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is confident managing payroll processes independently and is looking for a flexible role based in Norwich, with convenient access to the city centre and free on-site parking.

Payroll Clerk (Part-Time)
Location: Norwich (close to city centre)
Hours: 25–30 hours per week
Salary: £13.84 – £16.41 per hour (dependent on experience)
Type: Ongoing temporary - opportunity for Temp to perm

 

Duties:

  • Take full responsibility for running payroll from start to finish each pay cycle
  • Keep employee payroll records up to date, including starters, leavers, and any changes
  • Process all aspects of pay, including salaries, overtime, bonuses, sick pay, holiday pay, and statutory payments
  • Ensure payroll is accurate, on time, and in line with company policies
  • Stay compliant with UK payroll legislation and HMRC requirements
  • Manage year-end payroll tasks, including preparing and submitting P60s, P11Ds and P11D(b)
  • Handle pension administration, including auto-enrolment, contributions, and liaising with providers
  • Produce payroll reports and reconciliation's for HR, Finance, and management
  • Support month-end activities such as payroll journals and headcount reporting

 

Requirements:

  • Proven, up-to-date experience in end-to-end payroll processing
  • Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and statutory requirements
  • Experience preparing and submitting P60s and P11Ds
  • Familiarity with Sage 50 Payroll is highly desirable
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs
  • Ability to work independently and take full ownership of payroll processes
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
