Role: Project Engineer
Location: Hendy Industrial Estate, Swansea
Salary: £40K - £44K
Type: Permanent
Hours: Monday to Thursday 8.15am – 4.45pm Friday 8.15am – 3.30pm

Our client is expanding, and we’re looking for a motivated Project Engineer to join their dynamic Projects Engineering Department. This is your chance to work for a fast-growing company that designs and manufactures cutting-edge hygienic process systems for the pharmaceutical, food & beverage, dairy, and chemical industries.
With a 30,000 ft² manufacturing facility, we’re aiming to become the market leader in membrane filtration systems, CIP systems, and bespoke stainless-steel fabrications.
What You’ll Bring to the Team
We’re looking for an enthusiastic engineer with:
- A degree in engineering or a related scientific discipline
- Experience in process manufacturing and equipment specification
- Knowledge of thermo/fluid dynamics, instrumentation, and control (preferred)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Strong administrative and organisational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Essential project management experience
- A valid UK driving license
- Willingness to travel across the UK (and occasionally overseas)
Your Responsibilities
As a Project Engineer, your work will be varied and hands-on, including:
- Designing process flow diagrams and control systems
- Sourcing and procuring materials and equipment
- Supervising workshop-based builds and collaborating with fabrication teams
- Managing full project lifecycles – from concept to installation and commissioning
- Carrying out risk assessments and producing technical documentation
- Supporting customer relationships and conducting pilot plant trials
- Preparing costings and detailed technical reports
- Representing Axium at customer sites throughout the UK and abroad
