Job Title: Project Engineer
Location: Swansea
Salary: £42,000 – £45,000 per annum
Working Hours: To be confirmed
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent

Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Project Engineer to support the planning, coordination, and delivery of engineering projects from concept through to completion. This is a hands-on role requiring a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple workstreams effectively.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the lifecycle of assigned engineering projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery

  • Develop project scopes, technical specifications, timelines, and resource plans

  • Liaise with internal teams (maintenance, design, production) and external contractors or suppliers

  • Monitor project progress, risk, and performance using appropriate project controls

  • Coordinate procurement of equipment and materials for projects

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, health & safety regulations, and internal procedures

  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation and progress reports

  • Support commissioning, testing, and handover activities

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives

Required Skills and Experience

  • Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical, Electrical, or General Engineering (or equivalent experience)

  • Proven experience in a project engineering or coordination role within an industrial or manufacturing environment

  • Strong understanding of engineering principles, systems, and maintenance practices

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure

  • Competent in interpreting technical drawings and schematics

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management tools

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Full UK driving licence (preferred)

Desirable

  • Experience working on CAPEX or plant upgrade projects

  • Familiarity with CMMS or ERP systems

  • IOSH/NEBOSH or other safety-related training
