Quality Assurance Assistant
Night Shift: Sunday–Thursday, 11pm–7am
Pay Rate: £13.43 per hour
Location: Abercynon
A great opportunity has arisen for a Quality Assurance Assistant to join a well established manufacturing operation. This role reports to the Quality, Technical & Environmental Manager and will initially be based on a permanent night shift. Please note: shift patterns may change in the future to a rotating 3 shift system (mornings, afternoons, nights).
About the Role
• This role is essential in ensuring that all products consistently meet strict quality, safety, and compliance standards. Working within a fast paced production environment, you will carry out routine testing, audits, and checks to support the site’s quality management systems. You will be responsible for identifying issues, raising non conformances, and ensuring corrective actions are completed. The position requires accuracy, confidence in decision making, and the ability to work independently during night operations while maintaining strong communication with the wider quality and production teams.

• A solid understanding of hygiene, safety, and compliance requirements
Key Responsibilities
• Completing and closing out GMP audits in line with schedules, including follow up on NCR actions
• Raising, investigating, and documenting non conformances
• Ensuring ATP swabbing and data logger checks are completed at required intervals
• Daily calibration of scales (once per shift)
• Weekly calibration of temperature probes
• Conducting pH, Brix, and other required product testing
• Calibrating probes in accordance with planned schedules
• Issuing and controlling knives and scissors
• Completing Glass & Plastic Audits and actioning any findings
• Carrying out quality checks on all products and verifying associated paperwork
• Conducting incoming goods and finished product checks
• Managing returns and on hold stock
• Reviewing and validating pre and post hygiene swabbing
• Supporting the effective implementation of BRC and IMS Management Systems
