Qualified Assessor – Health and Social Care

Salary: £25,200 – £26,780
Location: Cardiff (Head Office)
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 16:30

Overview

A well-established training provider is seeking a qualified Assessor in Health and Social Care to support apprenticeship learners throughout their qualification journey.

This role involves delivering structured, end-to-end assessment and guidance, ensuring learners develop the knowledge, skills, and behaviours required to successfully complete their qualifications and progress within the sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, knowledge and competency-based assessments, ensuring consistently high standards
  • Manage a regional caseload, including travelling to learner workplaces to conduct assessments
  • Support learners throughout their programme through effective planning, regular reviews, and constructive feedback
  • Take ownership of timely qualification completion for all learners within your caseload
  • Conduct monthly progress reviews, setting clear and measurable targets while maintaining communication with employers and stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) to support learner progress and achievement
  • Support the development of learners’ literacy, numeracy, ICT, and digital skills
  • Review and assess workplace evidence in line with qualification and Essential Skills requirements
  • Plan and deliver effective learner inductions, ensuring a clear and structured learning journey
  • Maintain compliance with internal quality assurance processes and awarding body standards

Requirements

Essential:

  • Level 2 & 3 NVQ/QCF in Health and Social Care (Adults)
  • Experience delivering training or assessment within the Health and Social Care sector
  • CAVA qualification (or equivalent)
  • Previous assessor experience
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Willingness to undergo a DBS check (cost covered) and register with the relevant regulatory body

Desirable:

  • Welsh language skills
