Qualified Assessor – Children & Young People
Salary: £26,200 – £28,880
Location: Cardiff (Head Office)
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 – 16:30
Overview
An established training provider is seeking a qualified and experienced Children & Young People (CYP) Assessor to support apprenticeship learners throughout their qualification journey. This role involves delivering structured, end-to-end assessment and guidance to ensure learners successfully achieve their qualifications.
The organisation is committed to delivering high-quality training programmes that combine practical workplace learning with theoretical knowledge, helping learners build the skills required for a successful career in the sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, knowledge and competency-based assessments to learners, ensuring consistently high standards
- Manage a caseload of learners across a regional area, including workplace visits for assessment activities
- Support learners throughout their programme through effective planning, regular reviews, and constructive feedback
- Ensure timely completion of qualifications for all learners within your caseload
- Conduct monthly progress reviews, setting clear and measurable targets and maintaining communication with employers and stakeholders
- Develop and maintain Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) to support learner progress and achievement
- Support the development of learners’ literacy, numeracy, ICT, and digital skills
- Review and assess workplace evidence in line with qualification and Essential Skills requirements
- Coordinate and deliver learner inductions, ensuring clear expectations and structured learning journeys
- Maintain compliance with internal quality assurance processes and awarding body requirements
Requirements
Essential:
- Level 4 & 5 NVQ/QCF in Children & Young People
- Proven experience delivering training or assessment within the CYP sector
- CAVA qualification (or equivalent)
- Previous assessor experience
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Willingness to undergo a DBS check (cost covered) and register with the relevant regulatory body
