Food Manufacturing | High Care Environment

Are you an experienced Site Director, General Manager or Factory General Manager looking for an opportunity to lead a complex food manufacturing operation?
We are seeking a commercially minded and people-focused Site Director to take full ownership of a high-performing food manufacturing site. This is a pivotal leadership role with responsibility for operational performance, food safety, customer delivery, financial results, and the ongoing development of site culture.
Reporting to the senior leadership team, you will be accountable for delivering business objectives while ensuring the highest standards of quality, compliance, and customer service.
The Role
- Full ownership of site performance, profitability, and strategic direction.
- Lead and develop a multi-functional leadership team across Production, Engineering, Technical, Hygiene, Warehousing and Health & Safety.
- Drive operational excellence through continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure exceptional standards of food safety, quality, and compliance within a high-care manufacturing environment.
- Manage key customer relationships across both retail and commercial channels.
- Deliver site KPIs relating to safety, quality, cost, service, and people performance.
- Develop a high-performance culture focused on accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
- Lead capital investment, change management and business improvement projects.
About You
- Proven experience as a Site Director, General Manager, Factory General Manager or equivalent within food manufacturing.
- Strong experience operating within a high-care or high-risk food production environment.
- Demonstrable success managing large-scale manufacturing operations.
- Full P&L responsibility and strong commercial awareness.
- Experience supplying major retailers and commercial/foodservice customers.
- Strong understanding of food safety, quality systems, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Passion for developing people and building high-performing teams.
