We are looking for a Stock Analyst to join a growing retail operation, supporting the reduction of stock loss and driving operational improvements through insightful analysis.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an analytical professional to play a key role in understanding stock movements, investigating discrepancies, and helping the business make informed decisions. Working closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, IT, and Loss Prevention teams, you will use data to identify risks, uncover opportunities, and support initiatives that improve stock accuracy and reduce loss.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse stock movement and loss-related data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Investigate stock discrepancies, unusual activity, and potential loss events.
  • Produce regular and ad-hoc reports, dashboards, and performance scorecards.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions to improve stock control and loss prevention.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across multiple departments to support strategic initiatives.
  • Review and improve reporting processes, data quality, and analytical methods.
  • Support operational teams by providing actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Assist with investigations and audits relating to stock discrepancies, theft, fraud, and operational issues.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.

About You

  • Previous experience in a data analysis, stock control, loss prevention, inventory, or similar analytical role.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret large datasets and identify meaningful trends.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including reporting, data manipulation, and pivot tables.
  • SQL experience with the ability to query and analyse data from multiple sources.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present findings to a range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable

  • Experience within retail, distribution, logistics, warehousing, or supply chain environments.
  • Knowledge of loss prevention, fraud prevention, stock accuracy, or shrinkage reduction.
  • Experience using Power BI, Tableau, or similar data visualisation tools.
  • Understanding of inventory control, audit processes, and performance reporting.

What's on Offer

  • Permanent, full-time position.
  • Monday to Friday working pattern.
  • Opportunity to join a successful and expanding business.
  • Collaborative and supportive working environment.
  • Employee benefits package and long-term career development opportunities.

If you enjoy turning data into actionable insights and want to make a real impact on stock performance, operational efficiency, and loss prevention, we'd love to hear from you
