Junior / Trainee Freight Forwarder
Location: Exeter
Salary: £28,000
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-focused Junior / Trainee Freight Forwarder to join their growing team. This is a fast-paced role within a busy and supportive office environment, working alongside an experienced team with a great dynamic. You’ll be based in modern, professional office surroundings where teamwork and development are genuinely valued.
A large part of the role will involve supporting customs entries and shipment documentation, so strong attention to detail and accuracy are essential. Full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting with customs entries and related import/export documentation
- Supporting the coordination of air, sea, and road freight shipments
- Preparing shipping paperwork and ensuring all information is accurate
- Liaising with customers, carriers, hauliers, and overseas agents
- Tracking shipments and providing regular client updates
- Updating internal systems and maintaining accurate records
- Learning customs procedures, compliance regulations, and freight processes
- Supporting senior team members with day-to-day operations
Ideal Candidate:
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Keen interest in logistics, shipping, or international trade
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload
- Confident using Microsoft Office and computer systems
- Reliable, proactive, and eager to learn
